Air Malta has launched its summer flight program with an operation planned in 20 cities. During the six-month program (May to October 2021), the airline has pledged to operate 3,012 flights and will offer more than half a million seats for sale.
Commenting on the plan, Air Malta Commercial Director Roy Kinnear said: “This calendar delivers a strong message of the airline’s commitment to the local and international tourism industry. The schedule focuses on Malta’s main markets for inbound tourism and is in line with Air Malta’s strategy to be a point-to-point carrier operating to major European cities and major airports linked to major airlines in the network by through key inter-company partnerships and codeshare agreements.“
This summer, the Airline will operate direct flights from / to Amsterdam, Brussels, Catania, Frankfurt, Geneva, Lisbon, London Heathrow, Lyon, Manchester, Munich, Milan Linate, Moscow *, Palermo, Paris Charles De Gaulle, Paris Orly, Prague, Rome, Tel Aviv *, Vienna and Zurich. (* – operations to these airports are subject to the opening of secure corridors)
High season highlights include:
· Up to 10 weekly services to London Heathrow.
· Twice weekly services to Manchester, supporting the Midlands and northern UK.
· Up to 11 weekly connections to Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports in Paris.
· Up to 9 weekly services in Catania.
· Rome, Munich and Vienna are all served up to 5 times per week.
Speaking on recent developments, Air Malta Executive Chairman David G Curmi said: “We are pleased to see the gradual increase in consumer confidence and their propensity to travel this summer. This increase, driven mainly by the success of vaccination deployments in many countries, including Malta, bodes well for an easing of travel restrictions and a resumption of tourism this summer. We are happy to be a part of the process and to help reopen our islands to tourism.“.
